IFRS 9: A Knowledge Exchange Workshop on Implementation and Challenges

Financial Reporting under IFRS 9
Join us for a research-led, in-person knowledge exchange workshop focused on the challenges and implications of IFRS 9.
This event brings together academic researchers, external experts, and early career scholars to explore key issues in financial reporting, including Expected Credit Loss (ECL), managerial judgement, comparability, and market reactions.
Keynote Speakers:
• Professor Argyro Panaretou (Lancaster University)
• Professor Enrico Onali (University of Bristol)
The programme includes keynote presentations, selected research paper presentations, discussant-led feedback, and a panel discussion.
Panel Discussion:
The workshop will feature a dedicated panel session on “IFRS 9 in Practice: Importance, Challenges, and Benefits,” bringing together keynote speakers and invited experts. The panel will explore why IFRS 9 matters, its practical implications, and key challenges in implementation.
Participation Options:
Please note that all participants are required to register via Eventbrite and complete the Google Form.
Participants are welcome to join the workshop in the following ways:
• Attend the workshop
Register via Eventbrite to attend as a participant.
• Present research (optional)
Participants who wish to present their research are invited to submit their work for consideration. Selected contributors will present their research and engage in discussion with the panel.
Call for Research Contributions:
Researchers are invited to submit a short abstract (300–500 words) along with their manuscript on IFRS 9 or closely related topics.
