Every 2nd Thursday of the month Ignite holds an in person get together. A relaxed environment to meet people in Chelmsford, have a friendly chat and hear talks on inspiring creative & cultural topics. Our bar serves local beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks.
We are often treated to a short performance or taster from speakers - recently we have had a cello performance, beer tasting, poetry reading and storytelling.

This month we will be exploring local festivals, thinking about the amazing community led events we now have in Chelmsford, and how we can support - as well as getting some inspiration for other places.
Speakers - Jules Pinkney
With over three decades of experience in producing large-scale festivals, events, and club nights, Jules Pinkney has earned a reputation as a driving force behind some of the UK’s most iconic productions. Her expertise spans operations, logistics, creative direction, and problem-solving—bringing complex projects to life with precision, passion, and flair.
Ben Wass - Founding member of the Secret Island Festival
We are a fully independent and self-financed boutique festival based on Mersea Island in Essex. We focus on the local community as a base for all that we do.
This year was our 5th year with headliners including Mike Skinner from the Streets, Aries, Switch disco and Stanton Warriors. In the past we've had artists such as Faithless, Orbital, Shapeshifters and Norman Jay MBE come and play for us.
This year we introduced a live band stage hosted by a local promotor. The stage included up and coming original Essex artists showcasing a wide range of live music genre’s.
