But Who Do You Say That I Am?Imag(in)ing Jesus Through Film and Context

A seminar with theologian Victoria Omotoso, exploring how film, culture, and race shape our understanding of Jesus today. Thought-provoking and insightful, this talk invites fresh perspectives on faith and identity.

Bio: Victoria Omotoso is a London-born scholar of Nigerian ancestry, raised in South Africa, whose cross-cultural background informs her research. She explores decolonisation, the image of the white Jesus, Black theologies, and biblical reception, with a passion for enhancing biblical literacy and promoting the significance of theological education. Victoria is a project lead with the Racial Justice Unit, compiling a Bible studies resource for the Church of England. Her book, Imag(in)ing Jesus in the Universal or Particular, is set to be published later this year by Bloomsbury. She is an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Exeter and a Visiting Lecturer at the London School of Theology.
