October 2020 is the month of Hacktoberfest 2020 (Presented by DigitalOcean + intel + DEV).

During this year's Hacktoberfest, Imperial's Research Software community are again running a hackathon event on Wednesday 14th October, from 14:00, to provide some background on contributing to open source software and some time to work on code development as part of a community.

There will be representatives pitching some open source projects that you might like contribute to and an opportunity to chat with experienced developers and open source contributors if you're new to the area and keen to get some help, thoughts or advice.

This event is open to people of any skill level from experienced software engineers to those of you just getting started with software development and keen to find out more and learn new skills.
