Event description
« Implementing the New UNEP 2020 S-LCA Guidelines » Hybrid event live from Brussels on 12/07/2021

About this event

On the 7th of December the SLC Alliance will host a hybrid event entitled “Implementing the New UNEP 2020 S-LCA Guidelines”. This event will take place at the Residence Palace in Brussels and will simultaneously be accessible via an online platform.

At this event, we will launch a number of new resources for S-LCA practitioners and users – the results of seven out of nine pilot studies that put to test the newly released UNEP 2020 S-LCA Guidelines; the UNEP 2021 S-LCA Methodological Sheets; and the translation of the UNEP S-LCA Guidelines in French, Dutch, and Italian (supported by Quebec Government Office in Brussels, the Belgian Federal Institute for Sustainable Development, Prof. Luigia Petti University of Pescara (Italy) and her Team, and Prof. Gabriella Arcese University of Cusano, Italy).

The event will provide an opportunity for practitioners, companies and government organizations to familiarize themselves with the UNEP 2020 S-LCA Guidelines and to hear from companies in a variety of sectors that have implemented the Guidelines.

An armchair discussion on the future of S-LCA will also be held at the event, highlighting global initiatives that are likely to shape how we consider social impacts in value chains in upcoming years.

This event is hosted by Mrs. Zakia Khattabi, the Belgian Minister of Climate, Environment, Sustainable Development and Green Deal and Mr Benoît Charette, the Québec Minister of the Environment and the Fight Against Climate Change, and co-organized with the UNEP Life Cycle Initiative.

The plenary part will be held in English. The workshops will be offered simultaneously in English, French, Dutch and Italian. You are able to attend the event in real live at the Residence Palace or you can follow the event online.
