Online Joining Instructions

To join us online please go to the link above. We will be starting with a brief introduction at 12 noon in the ‘edit-a-thon welcome’ room which can be accessed by clicking the big blue button.

We will then move to the breakout rooms below which have open spreadsheets containing content for you to add to and edit and virtual chat rooms where you can talk to the IMPLEMnT team and colleagues from across the college and some guests from other institutions. For technical specifications etc see below.

All communication will be done through instant messenger to save band width – please join ‘listen only’ so you can still hear me.
All chat will be moderated and recorded*
All virtual rooms have a shared google workbook for co-editing alongside them.
For the best experience we recommend using a PC and Firefox
You can, in theory, be in more than one room at once, but we recommend you log out of one before joining another.
Our moderators will leave at 1pm but the rooms and spreadsheets will stay open until 3pm if you want to continue the conversations

*The recordings are only for the use of the IMPLEMnT team to be able to evaluate the conversations in all of the rooms. They will not be shared.

IMPLEMnT is an online toolkit which will empower teachers to create original resources that support blended learning. The IMPLEMnT team is currently collating examples of technologies and teaching methodologies, and are running an edit-a-thon to co-create further content for the website and to begin generating a college wide community of shared practice in teaching with technology.

The event will involve a combination of virtual rooms and physical spaces where staff can come together and contribute technologies, methodologies and case studies via post-it notes, online chat or shared documents. The session will start with a short introduction from the team and then break off into smaller ‘rooms’ to work on technologies for different aspects of education, you will be able to drop in and out of the rooms depending on your experience and interest.

Technology for assessment and feedback
Technology for collaboration (sharing, audience response, social media)
Technologies for multimedia, content creation, visualisation and simulation
Technology for data
Student technologies
Teaching Methodologies

Join the team online or in the Royal School of Mine on the 25th April to share ideas with people from across college as well as guests from other institutions.
