Description

Course Overview

This is a one day masterclass, delivered by Dr Steve Eldridge, Senior Teaching Fellow at Lancaster University Management School.

Process thinking is a fundamental aspect of productivity improvement in any organization. Steve places it in the wider context of Operations Management, before considering the role of processes as a source of competitive advantage. The design of the process is often critical to the achievement of the organisation’s performance and the key factors influencing process design are highlighted.

The continuous improvement of processes is illustrated using a range of techniques, many of which are deployed within the context of lean thinking. Finally, the features of incremental and radical process improvement approaches are compared.
