Maud Blair’s book, 'In Between', is a powerful insight into life as a child of an African mother and European father in racially-segregated 1950s Rhodesia. Aged four, she was sent to a ‘Coloured’ boarding school and was discouraged from speaking her native language. Maud confronted privilege, prejudice and tried to make sense of her mixed identity in the midst of defacto apartheid.
