Join local poet, Andrew Button, on National Poetry Day as he reads from his work and a selection of poems by his favourite poets.
Andrew Button has had many poems placed in magazines. To date, he has had three collections published, The Melted Cheese on the Cosmic Pizza, (erbacce Press, November 2017), Music for Empty Car Parks (erbacce press, January 2020) and Shatner in Space: Beyond the Cosmic Pizza (erbacce press, January 2023) and is a regular on the poetry open mic circuit.
Andrew Button is a certifiable optimist whose formative years as a young poet were framed by smells from the local sewage works, Texan bars and every episode of The Flashing Blade and Citizen Smith.
Despite a suburban childhood in outer Nottingham and a university education in Leeds, he went on to become a fully formed librarian, music nerd and perky poet.
When asked to describe himself in only one word he replied swiftly, ‘quirky’ and added, ‘it’s a bright dayglo green badge that I’m happy to wear every day!’
His spaceship is currently parked in Leicestershire.
Refreshments provided. There will be copies of Andrew's books for sale at the event.
