From the 6th - 11th of February Bermondsey Project Space celebrates performance, with a packed programme of live art, theatre, music and spoken word in aid of the BPS outreach fund - supporting creative projects with local young people.

PERFORMANCE WEEK at BPS celebrates Live Art in all its forms and platforms London's most exciting performance artists, poets, musicians and theatre makers. Presented as Part of PERFORMANCE WEEK at Bermondsey Project Space, In Loving Memory Brings together Live Performance, Film and Installation in a humourous and courageous exploration of the death of childhood and the rude awakening of adult life.A collaboration between artists and pals Bridget Russon and Kate Ireland.Doors 7pmPerformance 7.30pm - 9.00pm

In Loving Memory laments the process of ageing. Using personal archives to create both live performance and installation, this experience offers an opportunity to give space to the ongoing grieving process that is required as we shed our skin, transitioning from childhood to the rude awakening of adult life. From purple crayons to printed black signatures, from dressing up to disguising, from silliness to shame, we invite you to join us in a global catharsis as we mourn the lives we have lived, the cradled embraces, the people we once were and the blue wendy houses that provided us with complete, insular protection. Join us in grief. Pause in recognition for what cannot be recovered. Pay your respects for the courageous, hilarious, silly and deliciously naive. We are constantly compelled to fantasise about our future, but when do we allow ourselves space to mourn our past? How can we honour the person we left behind?
