Join us for the Inclusive Climbing Event—fun, friends, and climbing for everyone, no matter your skill!

Inclusive Climbing Club – The Ledge

5th February | Inverness

The Inclusive Climbing Club is a welcoming monthly climbing space delivered by Equal Adventure at The Ledge Climbing Wall, Inverness. These sessions create a supportive, flexible environment where people can explore climbing, build confidence and enjoy being active in ways that work for them.

This programme is funded by The National Lottery Fund and supported by the British Science Association and the Wellcome Trust.

What this session offers

This session is part of our new monthly Inclusive Climbing Club and offers:

  • A calm, friendly introduction to climbing
  • Supportive instructors and adaptive equipment
  • Time to climb, watch, rest or socialise
  • A pressure-free environment focused on enjoyment and confidence

No previous climbing experience is needed. You can take part at your own pace and in whatever way feels right for you.

Who can attend?

  • Open to ages 15 years and over
  • Suitable for people new to climbing or returning after a break
  • Designed for those who want a calmer, more supported way to be active

Friends, families and support workers are very welcome.

How the day works

To keep the session safe, calm and supportive, the day is structured as follows:

9:30 am
Ropes and equipment set-up.

10:00 am – Registration for new climbers
New participants are encouraged to arrive from 10:00 am to get registered, meet the team and get settled.

11:00 am – Meet & greet
Welcome and introduction with Suresh and the Equal Adventure team.

🧗 Session 1: 11:30 am – 12:30 pm

Supported rope climbing – trunk and arm performers only

  • Focused on more supported rope-access climbing
  • Maximum 4 participants

🍽 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm

Break / lunch / relaxed social time

  • Registration opens at 1:00 pm for afternoon climbers

🧗 Session 2: 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm

Stood climbers session

  • For climbers who are standing, including those using trunk and arm support
  • Maximum 8 participants

Arriving early

New climbers are very welcome to arrive up to an hour before their session to allow plenty of time to get comfortable, meet the team and prepare without pressure.

Equipment & support

  • The Ledge will provide climbing equipment for stood climbers
  • Equal Adventure will provide additional specialist and adaptive equipment as required
  • Sessions are delivered with appropriate instructor ratios to support safety and positive experiences

Booking is essential so we can prepare the right support and equipment.

After booking, you’ll receive a short form to share anything we should know to help you have a good session.
