To mark UK Disability History Month, the School of EEECS  at the University of Liverpool will host a webinar with Bharat Paudyal. ​

Title of talk: Assistive Interaction Approaches to Support Developers with Physical ImpairmentsSpeaker: Bharat Paudyal, School of Computing and Digital Technology​, Birmingham City University​AbstractWriting code typically requires extensive use of a traditional mouse and keyboard input approach to facilitate the software development process. This can present significant challenges and barriers for people with physical impairments who may not be able to easily operate these devices and can prevent them from entering into technical careers. Assistive tools such as voice recognition, mechanical switches, Eye Gaze tracking etc have improved rapidly in recent years and can present an opportunity to address some of these challenges and make coding more accessible. This session will discuss some of the approaches implemented using these tools for performing coding activities and findings from evaluations conducted with both disabled and non-disabled developers.The talk will last for approximately 30 minutes and will be followed by a Q&amp;A.
