Access Sport

In collaboration with Lee Valley and England Hockey, Flyerz Hockey is excited to offer Access Sport’s free inclusive training course to hockey clubs, coaches and volunteers interested in delivering inclusive hockey! 
 
<A HREF="https://www.accesssport.org.uk/flyerz-hockey" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Flyerz Hockey</A> is the name widely associated with disability inclusive hockey across Great Britain! There are now more than 15 Flyerz sections across GB, providing disabled people, with varying needs, the opportunity to play hockey. Thanks to funding from Spirit of 2012, we are able to support an additional 50 clubs to launch Flyerz hockey over the next 3 years. 
 
Access Sport’s free inclusive course is for any and all individuals who would like to gain the knowledge, skills and practical experience to deliver disability inclusive sessions.  The course is designed to upskill coaches and volunteers to support disabled people in physical activity and deliver adaptable sessions, making them accessible to people with a wide range of abilities. The course provides the opportunity to try out different coaching scenarios and Access Sport will provide feedback and spark important conversations around how to make minor changes and adaptations within their delivery of hockey sessions.  The course fills a gap in the training provision for inclusive coaches and is in the process of being endorsed by the YMCA awards.
