This session will explore how Ageing Better's approach to reaching, engaging and involving a diverse range of voices created a way of ensuring that co-production was fully representational of the services, projects and communities, that it is was intending to serve. We will draw from the grassroots experience of national partners such as Ageing Better in Birmingham who represented a super diverse city, and Ambition for Ageing in Greater Manchester who embedded a spatial approach to engaging marginalised communities to ensure that those who are very often under-represented were included.
We will share tips for increasing engagement with a wide range of voices, learning from a tapestry of perspectives and spend some time exploring what worked well and why. You'll hear views from older people across a broad spectrum of needs to find out what helped them to engage, take part, and why it was of benefit to them.
You are invited to bring along your views on this topic and any challenges that you would like some support with. There will be space for questions and also time to reflect on how our approach might be adapted to help you tap into the ideas and experiences of everyone who you'd like to involve.
We hope to help you work out the best methods for you, so can put them in place to increase your own diversity of inclusion.
It will be helpful to review and download the following learning guide from our Stronger Together Toolkit - 7 Increasing diversity of inclusion.pdf
