Indigo dyeing is one of humanity's oldest and most valued textile traditions, with a rich history in countries like Japan, China, India and Africa. In this workshop you will learn about manual resist dyeing including Itajime Shibori (Japanese clamp resist) and other simple techniques and get the chance to produce your own indigo dyed bandana.

About Kaori

Originally from Japan, Kaori is now based in London and has a background in dressmaking and design. Kaori's passion is blending traditional Japanese craftsmanship with contemporary designs. She taught herself the art of indigo dyeing (aizome) and more recently she has begun upcycling vintage kimono and obi (traditional Japanese sashes) to create modern, stylish pieces.
