Initiating Communities of Practice for Diversity & Inclusion
Thu 25 May 2017, 09:00 – 13:30 BST
In order to embed inclusion in London’s healthcare system, the London leadership academy have commissioned a convening day to initiate conversations that may lead to a variety of communities of practice.
What are Communities of Practice?
Communities of Practice are groups of people who share a concern or passion for something they do, and who come together regularly to share ideas on how to achieve best practice. They are facilitated by an experienced convenor, solution-focused, and bring together groups bound by shared expertise and passion for a joint enterprise.
Why choose to come along?
If you are someone who wants to be more effective in increasing diversity and inclusion at work. Who wishes to learn and be supported alongside others on real live problems in powerful ways, with less effort, then this convening day is right for you.
Join in with us if you want to:
Experience a greater connection with yourself, your potential as a leader, and what you are able to do with others
Be exposed to ways of doing things that go beyond the existing paradigms
Feel that you are able to reconnect with the humanity in your work
Feel supported to develop resilience in the face of adversity
Feel encouraged to develop fresh thinking, new skills, and greater ambition for the inclusion agenda
Be connected to other people who have energy and enthusiasm for change
Feel included in something that brings out the best of you
The workshops will be facilitated by Valerie James. Valerie was a Senior Fellow in Leadership at the King’s Fund for 10 years and is Visiting Senior Fellow at Kingston & St George’s, London Universities. Previously a clinician, she now works independently on transformational change and is at the forefront of innovation in developing health service leaders.
