Event Descripton:

Innovate Now is hedgehog lab's invite-only exclusive networking event. This will be the fourth instalment of what is now a bi-monthly event, and is set to be our most exciting yet.

This time the evening will take on a panel format, with a range of industry experts discussing the opportunities provided by the rise of artificial intelligence, and some of the key issues that must be overcome to increase the adoption of AI solutions.

Elsewhere, there will also be a discussion of the benefits to both businesses and their audiences across a wide range of industries; a range of examples of AI products and services - demonstrating best practice in implementation and guidance of how to conceptualise AI solutions which are of genuine value to organisations and users.

Speaker Profiles - Dr. Russell Collingham (hedgehog lab):

Dr. Russell Collingham holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, and maintains a particular interest in areas such as speech recognition and education. In fact, Russell has considerable experience of working at Durham University, where he lectured in both Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence.

Now Head of Engineering at hedgehog lab, Russell will provide an intriging insight into how AI can play a role in education, training and more.

Speaker Profiles - Helen Waller (Accenture):

Helen is the Intelligent Automation Lead for Accenture's Newcastle Technology Centre and a Delivery Lead for one of the company's Health & Public Service clients. She has been with Accenture for 11 years and has worked across a variety of delivery roles and projects. Her current client role is focused on the development of chatbots, aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing the manual overheads of existing business processes.

Speaker Profiles - Alex Fawcett (Sage):

Alex Fawcett is the Product Manager for Bots and AI, based in Sage’s Newcastle office. Alex has been with Sage for 10 years, primarily in technical innovation roles, working on products such as Sage 50, Accounting and Financials. Alex has filed multiple AI patents for Sage and is a passionate believer in the transformative power of artificial intelligence.

6:00pm - 6:30pm: Registration & Refreshments

Guests collect their welcome pack on arrival and are free to help themselves to a drink, chat with fellow delegates and enjoy the build up to the panel discussion.

6:30pm - 7:30pm: Panel Discussion

Host Ben Lind will guide our panel as they gather to discuss a wide range of thoughts around artificial intelligence and its value to businesses.
7:30pm - 8pm: Food & Networking

Guests are free to grab themselves another drink, discuss the panel's thoughts and enjoy some delicious treats ahead of the second half of the event.

8:00pm - 8:45pm: Q&A

Our audience will be offered the opportunity to get more granular by presenting any more specific questions they may have or that may have arisen to our panel of AI experts.

8:45pm - 9:00pm: Close & Networking.

Enjoy the opportunity to pose one-on-one questions to those on our panel, interact with fellow delegates and ensure you have a clear idea of how you can implement or follow up on your learnings.

What is the nearest station to the event venue?

The nearest train station to hedgehog lab is Newcastle Central Railway Station, located just an 8-minute walk from the station. Manors Metro station is the closest inner-city rail service, but if arriving via train it is advised to walk or get a taxi for convenience.

Is there any parking available?

There will be free limited parking spaces outside Generator Studios on the night of the event. Car park users should request a parking pass from a volunteer upon arrival. Alternatively, there is a multi-storey parking facility just around the corner.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You do not have to bring your printed ticket to the event, however, there will be a registration process upon arrival (see the event schedule above for more), and as such you will be required to have notified us of your intent to attend to guarantee your seat.

Will there be food and/or drink?

Of course. As hosts of the event, hedgehog lab will provide a range of soft drinks, beers, coffee and locally-crafted food to make sure you don't go home hungry or thirsty!

Does the event actually start at 6pm?

In a word, no. As per the event schedule, there will be a 30-minute registration and networking period prior to us getting under way, so don't worry if you're unsure if you can make it for6pm sharp. We do ask that you are here by 6:30pm so we can get under way promptly.
