Innovation Panel Event: Raspberry Pi Series
Join us or a relaxed, hands‑on introduction to Raspberry Pi and similar low‑cost devices
Join us Wednesday, 11th March 2026 6:00-9:00pm at the IT hall for a relaxed, hands‑on introduction to Raspberry Pi and similar low‑cost devices. We will start with a short “what is a Pi” briefing, then move straight into live demos and a hands-on setup workshop where you can get started with your own device to take home. No prior knowledge is required, and friendly help will be on hand throughout.
You will be able to see four real use cases on the night: a smart home automation setup from Stuart Mitchel, a TV and media center by Gary Bilkus, a retro arcade build from Dan Johnson, and a real-time train departures board by Byron Glover. Future events will focus on getting you to build each of these yourself.
This event is open to Members, other livery companies and guests. You will need to bring your own Rasberry Pi to get the most out of these events, if you would like to purchase your own them please email innovation@wcit.org.uk who will provide a few cost price options. The aim is to establish an inclusive, ongoing series where we build these projects together and keep learning at each session.
Book via Eventbrite (£25 to cover wine and nibbles)
Doors open at 18:00, drinks, network and demonstrations first, presentation and making follows.
