Innovation Workshop: Technology during Transition

NIHR Children and Young People MedTech Co-operative (NIHR CYP MedTech) is a national organisation committed to developing paediatric medical technology in health areas with high disease burden and clear unmet needs.NIHR CYP MedTech is one of the 11 MedTech and In vitro diagnostics Co-operatives (MICs) funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).The 11 MICs were established in January 2018 to catalyse the development of new medical devices, healthcare technologies, and technology-dependent interventions in the NHS.NIHR CYP MedTech is the only dedicated paediatric MIC.

Young people with chronic health needs are required to move their health care from paediatric to adult health services when they reach 16-19 years of age. Transition refers to the process of moving from paediatric to adult health services.
This workshop aims to identify potential technology solutions that address unmet needs during the transition from paediatric to adult health services.
The areas of focus for the workshop are:

<LI>Young people with more than one health condition</LI>
<LI>Transition to primary care</LI>
<LI>Tracking young people throughout transition</LI>
</UL>
There will be a series of short talks from leading experts and interactive sessions.
 
Attendance is invited from academics, health care professionals, industry experts, young people and families, and anyone with an interest in or knowledge of the transition from paediatric to adult health care or child health technology. 
Attendees will be encouraged to form multi-disciplinary collaborations and project teams during the workshop. We anticipate that project ideas generated during the workshop will be taken forward.
 
Places are limited and prior registration is essential. Lunch will be provided.
