Did you know - Invasive species are considered an even bigger threat to biodiversity than climate change? Invasive species are animals or plants that have been introduced outside their normal ranges by humans and cause damage to their new environment. Without their usual predators around, introduced species can change habitats beyond recognition and have a negative impact on other species. Join us for an introduction into the world of Invasive Non-native Species (INNS). Learn how to identify our most common invasive species of plants and animal, and understand the impact they are having here in Yorkshire. We will also look at biosecurity, what it is, why it is important and how it can prevent the spread of INNS.The session will be led by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and has been organised by the Don Catchment Rivers Trust.
