The concept is short, appealing performances with a twist, almost a full-scale concert in miniature - popping up virtually anywhere! Come along and focus in on world class music for a snippet of time, without the formal constraints of a concert hall. Meet the musicians, enjoy interesting line ups, buy some drinks, meet new people and have a fabulous evening!

Beckenham Place Mansion

<h3>Join us at <a href="https://www.beckenhamplace.org" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Beckenham Place Mansion</a> on August 14th and dip in and out of an exciting range of activities. From String Quartets to Samba, hopefully there&#x27;s something you&#x27;ll enjoy! Curated by Classical PopUps, &#x27;Inside Out&#x27; is a jam-packed day and everybody is very welcome. Some events are ticketed, some are free - some inside, some outside, and we have some great ticket bundle deals on offer. There will be food and drink available throughout the day, with pop-up stalls from the fabulous team at Peckish! Neal&#x27;s Yard Remedies will be on site all day, represented by consultant, Jane Aebi.</h3><h3>We are taking over the stunning rooms inside the Mansion House to bring you live performances, an art and botanical craft exhibition, yoga and fitness classes and family music workshops. </h3><h3><em>The choice of title &#x27;Inside Out&#x27; is a reference to how our worlds have been turned inside out in the last year - The Arts, along with so many other industries has been incredibly hard hit and so many talented individuals have had to seek work and support elsewhere. Inside Out also mirrors a popular Neal&#x27;s Yard Remedies belief - that it truly matters how we treat our bodies and our own well-being, starting from the inside, out. This is also a practical visualisation of the events - taking place both inside and out! The &#x27;Inside Out&#x27; team is a collective of Creative Arts professionals.</em></h3><p></p><h2>FREE Art and Botanical Crafts Exhibition - From 10am</h2><h2>(The Billiards Room)</h2><p>Local artist Tríona Milne will be resident in the Billiards Room with a display of her gorgeous watercolours and acrylic creations. <a href="https://www.instagram.com/trion_art/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Check out her work here</a>. Tríona will be happy to discuss commissions and will have a range of pieces for sale on the day. </p><p>Rachel Van-der-Tang runs the brand new company <a href="https://www.wildmeadowcreative.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Wild Meadow Creative </a>and we are so excited that she can join us for the day. Rachel makes stunning handmade botanical casts and she will also be situated in the Billiards Room for the day.</p><p></p><p></p><h2>The Welcome Choir - 2-3pm -  FREE EVENT OUTSIDE</h2><p>Any donations will be gratefully received and will go directly to <a href="https://www.wateraid.org/uk/donate/donate-to-wateraid-today?id=RA/TPP/01A&amp;utm_source=google&amp;utm_medium=cpc&amp;utm_content=water_aid_exact&amp;utm_campaign=ppc_per_brand&amp;gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_76f2NKr8QIV0O7tCh3rXg4HEAAYASAAEgK0UvD_BwE&amp;gclsrc=aw.ds" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Water Aid</a></p><p><a href="https://www.therosewindow.org/choirs" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Welcome Choir</a> will perform outside in Beckenham Place Park - providing a selection of uplifting music.</p><p>The choir is Led by Katie Rose and is  based at St John the Evangelist in SE19, not far from Beckenham, so we are delighted that they can join us for &#x27;Inside Out&#x27;.</p><p>An inclusive, welcoming choir who enjoy socialising and singing global a cappella songs, working towards fun events  and are said to laugh as much as they sing!</p><p>A few words from the choir  &quot;Be well, be safe, breathe deep and keep singing loudly!&quot;</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><h2>South London Samba Youth  Band - 6:30pm - FREE EVENT OUTSDIDE</h2><p>South London Samba is a collective of energetic carnival drummers who blend world rhythms with their fresh South London vibe. They are heavily influenced by the rhythmic culture from South America, the Caribbean and Africa.</p><p>South London Samba has performed as part of the 2019 Cricket World Cup Opening Ceremony, with the Black Eyed Peas (UEFA Champions League Final 2017), O2 Arena, Lovebox, Love Supreme, Elrow Town, We Out Here, X The Tracks and many more.</p><p></p><p></p><h2>&#x27;The Classical Yard&#x27; - 3:30pm - Live Music and Neal&#x27;s Yard Remedies</h2><h2>(The Drawing Room)</h2><h2>Admission £15   (under 12 yr. olds free)</h2><p>We welcome back <a href="https://uk.nyrorganic.com/shop/janeaebi/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Neal&#x27;s Yard Remedies</a> - consultant <a href="https://uk.nyrorganic.com/shop/janeaebi/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Jane Aebi</a> will be resident for the day with an array of fabulous products. Pop in to the Drawing Room at Beckenham Place  Mansion and chat to Jane about all things Neal&#x27;s Yard!</p><h2>Free entry throughout the day for chats and Neal&#x27;s Yard browsing!</h2><p>There will also be a ticketed event combining live music from the Classical PopUps String Quartet with discussions revolving around well-being, the gorgeous Rose range from Neal&#x27;s Yard and lots more. Of course there will be a free goody bag for all ticket holders! Step into the Classical Yard for an hour of true relaxation, well-being exploration and beautiful live music.</p><p>Book in advance to avoid disappointment. </p><p></p><p></p><h2>Terrarium Creation Workshop with Studio HOIME (12 and 2pm)</h2><h2>(Drawing Room)</h2><h2>Admission and full kit purchase for workshop £37</h2><p>Come and enjoy a hands-on, mindful terrarium workshop with<a href="https://www.facebook.com/studiohoime/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"> Studio HOIME</a>. HOIME stands for Here’s One I Made Earlier, and specialises in curating DIY kits for people to enjoy a new craft or hobby, without having to buy the necessary components in bulk quantities. Nikki Brickles - Founder of HOIME will host the workshop,  providing all the materials and step-by-step guidance. Each element will be fully explained and you will build a stunning terrarium!  With your own choice of plants and decorative elements, this is a unique opportunity to create something stunning to take home at the end of the day.</p><p>The kit/workshop includes:</p><p>Clay pebbles</p><p>Sphagnum Moss</p><p>Activated charcoal</p><p>Pre-mixed compost</p><p>Topping stones</p><p>3 plants per person (a choice will be available)</p><p>The glass vessel (19cm diameter x 20cm height)</p><p>Decorative items (pebbles and driftwood)</p><p>Care Guide</p><p>Guided tuition</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><h2>Family Music Workshops - 11am and 2pm</h2><h2>(The Dining Room)</h2><h2>Admission £12 for children (under 5 yr.olds and accompanying adults free)</h2><p>The fabulous <a href="https://www.jessiegrimes.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Jessie Grimes </a>will be joined by members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and South London Samba, and will lead a couple of hour-long family music workshops. Particularly Suitable for children aged 5-12 and their accompanying grown ups, but everyone is welcome  at these participatory sessions - no musical experience neccessary! Clapping, singing, creating, listening and story-telling, this is a perfect way for little people to experience some exciting music making. </p><p>Jessie leads creative workshops for the RPO, CLS, Ulster Orchestra and Sinfonia Viva. She is passionate about making classical music accessible for all and particularly enjoys working with young children, people with SEND and adults with dementia.</p><p>Jessie was named a 2019 BBC Next Generation Voice and has been writing and recording short segments for BBC Radio 3’s Essential Classics.</p><p></p><h2>Yoga with Naomi - 10am and 5pm  - £12 and £14</h2><h2>(The Old Library)</h2><p>Join the wonderful Naomi Watts as she offers two contrasting Yoga sessions in the stunning setting of the Old Library. </p><p><strong>Hatha flow (10am-11am)</strong></p><p><strong>Admission £12</strong></p><p>An invigorating flow class designed to cultivate calm and clarity for your heart, mind and body. Expect to sweat through intelligently sequenced Asana that will leave you feeling lighter and stronger.  Open to all!</p><p><strong>Restorative flow Yoga with live cello (5pm-6:15pm)</strong></p><p><strong>Admission £14</strong></p><p>A gentle flow for healthy joints with a strong focus on breath-work before luxuriating into held restorative postures, and finally resting in stillness. </p><p>A deeply relaxing and rebalancing practice with live cello.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><h2>&#x27;Shifts&#x27;  -  Classical PopUps Ensemble - 7:15pm</h2><h2>(Drawing Room)</h2><h2>Admission £15 (under 16 yr.olds free)</h2><p>Specialising in unusual line-ups, new arrangements and an exciting approach to contemporary music, our Ensemble brings you a mix of brilliant music to end  our day. of events. Featuring music by the wonderful composer <a href="https://trishclowes.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Trish Clowes -</a> Trish has been described as “an improviser to be reckoned with” (Downbeat Magazine) and “one of the most agile and original jugglers of improv and adventurous composition to have appeared in the UK in recent times” (John Fordham, the Guardian). Lauded for her imaginative approach to improvisation and composition, Clowes is currently an Associate Artist at Wigmore Hall, and has released six critically acclaimed albums.</p><p>The idea of &#x27;Shifts&#x27; is to blend together musical genres, shifting bewteen styles and creating a varied performance for everyone to enjoy. The Ensemble this evening consists of a String Quintet, Trumpet, Trombone and Percussion with music for various combinations. </p><p>We end the evening with a selection of light, jazz numbers and a touch of tango by Piazzolla.</p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p>
