"Inside the GDC - Fitness to practise" a lecture by Mr Mike Ridler, recently retired head of Fitness to Practise hearings at the GDC.
Until recently retiring Mike had been head of the hearings team at the GDC since 1999 and so has a wealth of insider knowledge. He will look at the most common reasons people end up on the wrong side of a hearing and some of the mistakes that make a bad situation worse. He will also look ahead to the future "direction of travel" of the Fitness to Practise process.
As Mike is now retired he is entirely independent of the GDC - he has no agenda or axe to grind - his talk promises to be very to be frank and open, and he has made it clear that no questions should be thought to be out of bounds!
This is an excellent opportunity to gain a unique insight into the GDC FTP process and how to avoid ending up before a panel, as well as gaining CPD in the GDC's advised core subject of "Legal and Ethical".
The lecture is held in the pleasant surroundings of Exeter Golf and Country Club and is followed by a meal. With a bar available this is an excellent way to catch up with and meet local colleagues.
Registration from 7.00pm for a 7.30pm lecture
1 Hour CPD (Advised core subject Legal & Ethical)
NB: Standard bookings now closed - late bookings are available but incur a £5 fee per ticket for dentists
