About this event
Do you feel unsure about how to support pregnant students in your regular classes—without disrupting the flow for others?
With so many yoga students being women, it’s likely you’ll teach someone who’s pregnant at some point. This workshop is designed to help you feel confident, clear, and inclusive in your approach.
You’ll learn what to do, what to avoid, and how to make simple, effective modifications that empower pregnant students while keeping your class cohesive.
What you’ll cover:
- Key physiological and hormonal changes in pregnancy
- The benefits of yoga during pregnancy
- Trimester-specific contraindications
- How to modify common poses safely
- Pranayama: what’s supportive vs. what’s not
- Use of props and inclusive language
- Keeping the class flowing for everyone
- Common pregnancy ailments and when to refer on
Note: This training won’t certify you to teach pregnancy-specific yoga classes. It’s designed to help you safely include and support pregnant students in your general teaching.
