IOSH East Lancashire district in conjunction with Forbes Solicitors' Regulatory team will be delivering an interactive Mock Health & Safety event on the 17 May 2024 to be held at the Impact centre Burnley from 09.30 to 13.00.
There will be a brief legal update from Forbes on recent prosecutions.
The team will then take you through an HSE investigation following a catastrophic fatal accident involving a work vehicle. The scenario will track the major elements of the aftermath following a serious incident and will afford delegates the opportunity to interactively discuss the decisions to be made once notified of a serious incident, to witness the intensity of an interview under caution and to consider and advocate pleas in mitigation and sentencing.
The session will seek to be fully interactive and will include break-out sessions allowing groups to discuss the phases of the investigation and enforcement action and have a go at predicting the outcome!
This event plans to cover the following IOSH competencies: Principles of health and safety and other legislative frameworks (Technical), Advocating for safety and inspiring people (Behavioural) and Incident investigation (Technical) at the Implement and Understand Level.
This event is open to members and non-members.
