6pm: D﻿rinks Reception6﻿.30: Live Poetry Readings by theVERSEverseSasha Stiles, Arch Hades, and Ana María Caballero will perform select live poetry readings in response to art censorship, algorithmic art and authorship7﻿:00: AI Poetry Performance Real-time AI-generated poetry performance by VERSA, theVERSEverse’s emergent AI poet created in collaboration with data poet Ross Goodwin.As part of the performance, you will be able to input keywords through the "Word Camera" and take home your own AI-generated poetry. (edited) theVERSEverseFounded in late 2021 by Ana Maria Caballero, Kalen Iwamoto and Sasha Stiles, theVERSEverse is a literary collective and cross-chain NFT gallery where poems are works of art.As the leading destination for digital poetic innovation, our mission is to empower writers via blockchain technology by pairing acclaimed poets with crypto-native artists to create media-rich, immersive 1/1 NFTs—pushing the boundaries of poetry in the digital, web3 age, and enabling writers around the globe to experiment with cutting-edge technological tools, such as AI generative text and algorithmic verse. VERSES BY VERSA“ExphrAIstic poetry”Our emergent AI poet responds to artworks on view at Unit Earlier this year, in collaboration with theVERSEverse, acclaimed data poet Ross Goodwin trained a custom text generator via GPT-3 on the corpus of all the poems published by our collective. This custom text generator – which uses neural networks to write poems in response to a variety of prompts – is known as VERSA.During this performance, VERSA (guided by Goodwin) will respond to audience-sourced keywords as well as artworks on view in the gallery by writing poems in real time. Each poem will be printed as “proof of poetry,” and offered to participants as unique souvenirs of a truly unique experience at the cutting-edge of the language arts.
