International Friction Welding Conference
The International Friction Welding Conference (IFWC) will take place at the headquarters of TWI Ltd in Cambridge on 19-21 May 2026.
This is a unique global forum that provides the opportunity for professionals from around the world to share and develop scientific and technical knowledge on friction welding and processing.
The 2026 confererence has particular significance as it will be held at TWI, where FSW was invented in 1991. In the years since, we have made major advancements in the technology, and continue to lead developments in FSW today. The International Friction Welding Conference (IFWC) will be the largest friction welding and processing event in 2026, with more than 80 papers planned to be presented in oral sessions and poster presentations.
