Description

We are delighted to invite you to this event to mark International Stammering Awareness Day (ISAD), where we will be showcasing the work and stories of people who stammer. A series of short talks will take place between 5.30-7.30pm, with conversations continuing in the on-site Student Union bar until 10pm for anyone who would like to join us. We have a number of exciting speakers lined up already, including:

Adam Wright

Adam is 39 and has stammered all of his life. Throughout childhood he always thought life would be a low key mundane experience because of his stammer but through hard work and therapy, he has managed to carve out a successful career in Social Work and lead a happy life. He is a proud advocate of #itsokaytostammer. Adam's documentary 'Living with a stammer' can be viewed via this link: https://youtu.be/VL6jG3TMqPE You can find Adam on Twitter: @Wrighti1

Ayo Adesanya

Ayo is an individual dedicated to helping others find their own roads to self-actualisation. As a person who stutters, Ayo knows all too well some of the impact stuttering can have on a person's life. Ayo has gone through a long process of personal growth and development and has finally found his voice. You can find Ayo on Twitter: @stopholdingback and Instagram: @ayo.stopholdingback

Luke Collins

Luke is a filmmaker and Assistant Lecturer at Coventry University. He is the author and director of 'Cappuccino', a short film exploring the experience of a stammer. You can find Luke on Twitter: @Luke_C

Mandy Taylor

Mandy is Vice Chair of the British Stammering Association and a happy stammerer.
