Description

Could you work with partners from other parts of the programme area such as in Northern France, Flanders in Belgium, the western Netherlands and other parts of Southern and Eastern England if they have the same goals for their areas?

Do you have an idea for a project that will deliver a real impact in your region for businesses or residents?

Could it make 2 Seas regions more innovative, resource efficient, greener or inclusive?

This Project Workshop seeks to raise awareness of the €241 million Interreg 2 Seas Programme (2014-20) and encourage more successful applications for future calls. Despite the UK’s planned exit from the European Union, the UK Government has undertaken to support all projects approved before the UK leaves the EU in March 2019 where they offer value for money and are in the national interest.

The EU’s Interreg programmes are looking for project applications in 2017 that will:

  • Improve the factors that help innovation flourish in the economy of England, France, the Netherlands and Belgium (Flanders).
  • Help businesses bring innovations closer to the market
  • Develop socially innovative approaches to tackling challenges such as demographic change, poverty and labour market exclusion
  • Roll out low carbon technologies or make businesses more resource efficient
  • Rebed the principles of a circular economy in the 2 Seas area
  • Help the 2 Seas regions adapt better to climate change

The timing of the event on the eve of European Maritime Day taking place this year in Poole on 18-19 May will enable participation from a range of different organisations. By providing a forum for partners to meet in Poole, SELP hopes that more partners will learn what it takes to submit a good application and find potential partners to maximise the possibility of securing Interreg funding. This event will be facilitated by Interreg 2 Seas Programme facilitators and representatives from the Joint Secretariat in Lille. You can also get help to develop your project: Interreg has an international team of project facilitators to guide you through every step of the application process.
