Event details 📖 Intersectionality and Human Rights: Reimagining European Court of Human Rights Judgments 📍 SOAS, University of London, Senate House, PWW, Wolfson Lecture Theatre 📅 24 November 2025, 18:00 - 19:30 Description This book launch will celebrate the publication of <a href="https://www.e-elgar.com/shop/gbp/intersectionality-and-human-rights-9781035356652.html" title="https://www.e-elgar.com/shop/gbp/intersectionality-and-human-rights-9781035356652.html" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Intersectionality and Human Rights: Reimagining European Court of Human Rights Judgments</a>, which envisions a brighter future in which law and legal institutions respond to intersecting forms of oppression, discrimination, and other human rights harms.This new book revisits and reimagines 12 landmark judgments of the European Court of Human Rights through the lens of intersectionality. By examining how multiple and overlapping forms of discrimination shape lived experiences, the volume offers innovative insights into the potential of human rights law to respond more effectively to inequality and injustice.Following a brief presentation about the <a href="https://intersectionalrewrites.org/" title="https://intersectionalrewrites.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Intersectional Rewrites project</a> by its initiator <a href="https://www.nanijansen.org/" title="https://www.nanijansen.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Nani Jansen Reventlow</a>, our invited panelists will engage in conversation to explore both the themes of the book and the pratical implications om imagining a jurisprudence that truly reflects the breadth of lived experience in our society.
