Event description

Description

Inter/sections holds a hands-on workshop for artists interested in working with technology, led by commissioned artist Will Hurt.

Will’s Lego Configurations Workshop invites artists to make small Lego objects, digitise them and to manipulate digitised objects inside a running software. Using up to 8 pieces of a limited subset of Lego type bricks, artists will make objects that could relate to any given theme of their choice, then with the digital modelling tool Mecabricks, artists will digitise the object they have made. The digital models then will be added to a running version of Will's Automated Spatial Transformations software. No technical background required, this is a hands-on opportunity for artists interested in working with technology.

Alongside the workshop, artists Yosuke Ushigome, Anna Ridler, and Jelka Kretzschmar will give artist talks on their respective pieces Professional Sharing, Wikileaks: A Love Story, and Wood of Voices.

Inter/sections Artists' Workshop and Talks will be followed by our exhibition launch party on Monday 4 September, 6 - 8pm. Please email info@intersections.io to RSVP.

Please visit intersections.io for the details of our exhibition, workshops and the symposium.

Inter/sections is supported by the EPSRC+AHRC Media and Arts Technology CDT, Queen Mary University of London, and the EPSRC Digital Economy Network
