About this event

Join us for an introductory Pilates session! Pilates can improve muscle tone, flexibility and strength, as well as help you heal from injuries.

If you’ve been looking for a fun new workout routine that can give you a good balance of flexibility, strength, muscle tone and help for a few aches and pains, Pilates may be the answer.

Come and have a go at a one-hour Introductory Pilates session at the Adelphi Centre at 6pm on one of the following dates. You’re welcome to join for one class, or come to all three:

  • Wednesday 10th April 2024
  • Monday 13th May 2024
  • Monday 10th June 2024

Suitable for complete beginners or those with some previous experience. Please bring a bottle of water and feel free to bring your own yoga/pilates/gym mat.

Please wear exercise clothing and bring a couple of layers.

If you don't have your own mat then there will be some spares available for you to use.

Who we welcome

All LGBTQ+ people aged 16+ in Glasgow are welcome to join us.

We welcome the entire diversity of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community including non-binary, queer, intersex, asexual people and all identities under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella.

We also welcome people who are questioning/exploring their sexual orientation/gender identity, or who do not use labels for either.

Registration

Spaces are limited to 20 people so we need you to register in advance.

Use this Eventbrite form to register. Registration is for 1 person only. If you wish to book for someone, please make another registration using their name. After registration, you will receive a confirmation email.

You can also contact the event organiser Sophie (she/they) at sophie@lgbthealth.org.uk, or phone 0775 411 4045 and leave a message for Sophie.

If something changes and you can no longer attend the event, please let us know as soon as you can so your space becomes available for someone else. You can cancel your space on Eventbrite or contact Sophie.

Access

The workshop is hosted at LGBT Health and Wellbeing in the Adelphi Centre.

We will send more information about the venue and how to access the event after you register.

The venue features:

  • ♿️ Wheelchair accessible with level access
  • 🅿️ Free parking and drop-off area at the front of building
  • 🚾 Accessible gender neutral toilets

Please be aware the venue is not fully accessible.

There is level access throughout the building, but there are no electronic or touch pad operated doors (staff will be there to let you in). Likewise the accessible WCs are behind sliding doors.

These issues have been fed back to the Adelphi Centre and we hope they will be improved for all of our community members in mind.

If there is anything you need to talk to us in advance of the event, please contact Sophie:
