This course will cover an introduction to data wrangling, visualisation, and basic statistics using R.

This course will cover an introduction to data wrangling, visualisation, and basic statistics using R. The purpose of the course is primarily staff development at the School of Psychology, University of Glasgow, but is open to all regardless of affiliation or field. The course will run over four two-hour sessions. Before each session, there will be approximately one-hour of preparation/consolidation work to complete.No prior knowledge of R or programming is required or expected, although a grasp of core quantitative concepts and statistics is. When	<ul><li>Tuesday 18th May</li><li>Thursday 20th May</li><li>Tuesday 25th May</li><li>Thursday 27th May </li><li>10am – 12 noon each day</li></ul>Course content	<ul><li>Intro to R and R Studio</li><li>RMarkdown for reproducible research</li><li>Data wrangling: selecting variables, filtering observations, transforming between wide and long-form</li><li>Data visualisation using ggplot: histograms, bar charts, scatterplots, violin-boxplots</li><li>Generating descriptive statistics </li><li>Correlation</li><li>T-test</li></ul>The course will be based on the <a href="https://psyteachr.github.io/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">PsyTeachR materials</a> from the University of Glasgow. The sessions will not be recorded, but links to pre-recorded walkthrough materials will be made available. This course will be free, although in return we will ask you to complete a feedback form to help us develop our training and materials.
