Overview

A five session course for beginners looking to try out stone carving using limestone and traditional stonemasonry tools

Term-time evening class study.

Suitable for complete beginners.

An introductory course to stone carving. The course will introduce the hand tools and techniques for working stone. Learners will be able to familiarise themselves with working in 3D form, then progress to creating a carved form in stone. Using soft limestone, participants will work from set designs and produce a traditional architectural low relief carving, with guidance support from experienced stone carving tutors. The sessions will be held in our well-equipped stonemasonry workshop, the course will provide an opportunity to learn about the basics of stonemasonry and see how techniques can be used to make a simple form in stone.

Refund policy:

  1. 100%* refund if the learner has provided 4 weeks notice.
  1. 50% refund if the learner has provided 2 weeks notice.
  1. No refund if less than 2 weeks notice.
  1. If a learner wants to postpone to a later course date then this can be done with no impact on fees paid as long as we have 1 week's notice of their intentions.

*Eventbrite deducts a fee on all orders of up to 10%, all refunds processed via bank transfer will be the original ticket cost minus the fee.
