The workshop will introduce students to the features of the BBC Micro-bit, a programmable device with powerful features, despite only being the size of a credit card. Students will programme the Micro-bits to perform a series of tasks exploring the light, sound, radio and movement features. No previous experience of the BBC Micro-bit is required.

Please note: This workshop is strictly for ages 9–11 only. We reserve the right to refund or deny entry to those who are not in this age range.

About Speaker:

Russell Harkin is a teacher of maths and computing who has taught and worked in computing for over thirty years. Having previously taught in the university sector, Russell now enjoys introducing the potential of computing to schoolchildren, so that they can enjoy the technology and use it responsibly and with confidence.
