Introduction to Archive Service Accreditation e-learning

This e-learning course is for anyone working with archive collections who wishes to find out about Archive Service Accreditation. It provides a general introduction to the scheme and will help participants take the first steps towards making an application.

The training covers:

• an introduction to the standard and how it applies to an archive service

• which archive services are eligible to apply for Archive Service Accreditation

• the benefits of applying for accreditation

• advice on planning and making an application, including tips from accredited archive services

• the assessment process and how Archive Service Accreditation is awarded

• how to retain accredited status

There are three modules to the e-learning and each module is composed of interactive presentations of varying length.

• Making an application

• After making an application.

You can work through the whole training course or you can dip into individual modules to work through at your own pace if you prefer.

It should take approximately two hours to complete all the training modules.

By the end of the training you will have developed a greater understanding of the standard and the scheme, and also some of the tools that will help you plan an application successfully.

Registering for the course

The e-learning is hosted on Moodle, for which you will need your own profile. New user profiles are created every week using your Eventbrite registration.

Once we have created your profile, we will email you your e-learning log-in details You can undertake the e-learning at your own pace and re-visit it as many times as you’d like.
