There is little more uplifting than the sound of bird song.
During this course, James Duncan will introduce you to a variety of bird species that can be heard in Sussex during the early summer months and give you some hints and tips to help you recognise their songs.
This will be followed by a gentle wander around the grounds at Wadhurst Park, listening out for different bird song and enjoying the variety of landscapes that can be found within the Estate.
Wadhurst Park's 850 hectares is managed to protect its nature, wildlife, cultural heritage and beauty. It is made up of gardens, meadows, lakes and orchards and is a wonderful example of sustainable environmental management in the High Weald.
This course is aimed at beginners and no previous knowledge is required.
James Duncan has led hundreds of walks and courses for Sussex Wildlife Trust and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of natural history and a wealth of fascinating facts that he will happily share with you.

What to bring: Pack lunch, water bottle. Binoculars, sturdy shoes, clothes for all weather and something to take notes with. Refreshments will be provided.

Accessibility: Parts of the walk will be off the main pathways with some gentle hills. A reasonable amount of fitness is required.
