Introduction to CASEE & AAC

The Communication Aid Service East of England is an organisation funded by NHS England and based at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge. We provide a service across Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Suffolk, Norfolk, and Essex offering assessment, provision, support, and advice for people with complex communication needs who may need alternative and augmentative communication systems; their families and the professionals who work with them.If you have any questions about any of the training events on offer, you can contact the CASEE team on 01223 349401 or email enquiries.casee@nhs.net.Please note, CASEE are unable to offer recordings of any of the training events on offer, due to the sessions being likely to involve discussions around real-life cases and individuals.

CASEE

This short session will introduce you to CASEE, our service remit and how we can support you and your clients.

This session is for anyone new to their role, or new to Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), who would like to find out about CASEE. It maps across to IPAACKS Level One (please see further information on CASEE Eventbrite profile). During this session we will:· Introduce you to CASEE, our service remit and how we can support you and your clients.· Review our referral process and criteria.· Look at our care pathway.· Look at a range of case studies.· Discussion and feedback from you about how we can support your local services.· Discussion of any possible referrals. This session will be 1 hour long and delivered on Zoom over lunchtime. Joining details will be sent to the email you register with prior to the session. If there are any adjustments or support that we can provide to make this training more accessible to you, please let us know. Please note, copies of the PowerPoint slides will not be provided in advance as standard, so please email us if this is something you require. If this course becomes oversubscribed priority will be given to professionals working in the East of England.
