Introduction to Coding - Python

Would you like to learn about coding?

Over 10, hands-on weeks, you'll go from complete beginner to writing your own working Python programs — no experience, no maths background, and no "being technical" required.

Python is one of the world's most popular programming languages, reading almost like plain English, and it's the perfect place to start whether you're thinking of a career change or are simply curious about how software works.

We keep it gentle and practical from day one. You'll learn by building real, everyday things — a tip calculator, a quiz game, a budget tracker — rather than wading through theory, and you'll finish the course by creating a small project of your own to be proud of.

Mistakes are treated as a normal, expected part of learning (they're how everyone learns to code), so there's no need to feel nervous. If you can use a computer for email and browsing, you're ready. Come and discover that coding is far more within your reach than you might think.

Privacy

To use the eventbrite system you need to book and pay online, you can do this from a computer, a smartphone or a tablet.

If you would prefer to do this with help from a member of our staff, or if you would like to make a 'paper form' booking please contact your local CLLE office.

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

ID is required if you have booked a discounted rate ticket. We will need proof of age or proof of receipt on benefits.

There is not set minimum age to attend our classes - but anyone must be able to fully engage with the content of the class and we recommend children under 16 only attend classes when they are coming with an adult who is also taking part in the class.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

It is useful to have EITHER an e ticket or a print out to confirm a place, but we will have a full list of the people who have booked and paid, so any form of ID will usually suffice.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes, you are free to change your information, however if your booking ends up changing price, please contact us for help.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes, but please contact us if the person you want to transfer your booking to is not in the same price bracket as you are.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Please contact us before the class to arrange a ticket transfer.
