Outdoor Learning Programme

All the events in the 2025/26 Outdoor Learning Programme aim to engage people with their local environment, through a variety of walks, workshops and talks.

In this workshop join Master Composter Louise Lomax and learn how to make great compost, including different composting methods, finding the right compost bin for you, and what ingredients to include. A great way to start or improve your composting journey! Workshop Tutor: Louise LomaxLouise has been a Master Composter for Garden Organic for over 10 years. She has attended many events promoting the benefits of composting, and is a keen organic gardener and composter herself. Louise has a professional background as a training facilitator in the voluntary sector.Severn Gorge Countryside TrustThis workshop is being hosted by the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust, a local charity.The Trust’s aim is to promote, protect and conserve the living landscape of the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site, which has a diverse range of habitats, including wildflower meadows, woodlands and heathlands. But that’s not all! We maintain over 20 kilometres of footpaths, conserve and protect 60 historic structures, run exciting Outdoor Learning and Volunteering Programmes to encourage local people and visitors to engage with the natural environment in a variety of ways.All proceeds from this workshop will support the work of the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust.<a href="https://www.severngorge.org.uk/who-we-are-2/" title="https://www.severngorge.org.uk/who-we-are-2/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">www.severngorge.org.uk</a>
