Our beginner’s workshops, held at Gem-A HQ in London, are designed to give you an introduction to gemmology. Teaching basic theory and practical skills, these workshops will allow you to get hands-on with popular gemstones and gem testing equipment.

What will you learn?

The perfect introduction to the fascinating world of gemstones, this tutor-guided practical session will enable you to become competent in the use of tweezers and the 10× loupe. You will handle some of the most popular gems and study their physical characteristics, whilst learning about origin and lore, properties, care and caution.

Who is the workshop suitable for?

Anyone with an interest in gems. Please note all of our courses are for people aged 18 and over.

What do you need to bring?

Notebook & Pen, all other items will be supplied in class.
