Introduction to hedgelaying
Come join us for a fun and hands-on session all about hedgelaying! Whether you're a complete beginner or just curious, this in-person event will give you a great intro to the traditional skill of shaping and maintaining hedges. Expect to get your hands dirty and learn some cool techniques in a relaxed setting. Don't miss out on this chance to connect with nature and pick up a new craft!
The ‘Introduction to Hedgelaying’ course includes the following:
– Assessing the hedge
– Choice of style
– Tools and sharpening, including health and safety
– Lay your own section of hedge
– Aftercare
– Questions and answers
Please aim to be at the venue at 9.45am for commencement at 10am
Please remember to bring:
- Packed lunch (hot and cold drinks will be provided for break times)
- Sturdy/weatherproof clothing
- Safety boots and work gloves if you have them (but spare work gloves can be provided)
- Any of your own tools (billhook, loppers, bowsaw/silky saw, axe) if you have them (but, again, these can be provided).
