Across three guided sessions, you’ll learn everything you need to design, carve, ink, and print your own linocut block. Step by step, you’ll build skills and confidence while creating a set of beautiful prints to take home.

No prior experience is needed — just bring your creativity and curiosity.


Session 1, Tuesday, 27th January, 6pm - 8.30pm

Getting Started
Introduction to linocut tools and materials, safety guidance, and basic design principles to help you plan a strong print.

Session 2, Tuesday, 3rd February, 6pm - 8.30pm

Carving & Texture
Develop carving techniques, explore mark-making and texture, and prepare your block for printing.

Session 3, Tuesday, 10th February, 6pm - 8.30pm

Inking & Printing
Learn how to ink and print your design, experiment with colour options, and complete your final prints.

Facilitator:

Jess Van Baalen is an artist and printmaker inspired by nature, folklore, and storytelling. A 2022 Illustration graduate from Brighton University, Jess creates bold, tactile lino prints that celebrate landscape, myth, and everyday magic.

3- week block: £119.17 (includes VAT and Eventbrite fees)
