Introduction to Medium Format Photography
We will introduce you to Medium Format photography through converting our workshop space into a DIY studio and darkroom
Join Mir, Lola, Al and Leo for an introduction to medium format photography. We will convert our workshop space into a DIY studio and darkroom, taking you through the basic steps to learn about analogue processes.
The workshop is suitable for anyone with an interest in analogue photography. Previous experience with or understanding of 35mm is helpful but not a prerequisite - if you have questions about suitability, feel free to reach out to us.
We will give a brief introduction to medium format, covering the difference between 35mm and 120mm film, loading and using cameras. Each participant will then have time to use the cameras, either taking portraits or still life. We will also demonstrate how to develop B&W film and look at the results together.
We will provide cameras and all materials, and you are welcome to bring any objects you’d like to photograph. If you have a medium format camera that you don’t know how to use, you’re welcome to bring that with you.
