A fun and accessible introduction to mime and physical storytelling, designed to help performers bring their work to life with greater physicality and clarity. Whether you're an improviser looking to enhance object work, a stand-up keen to strengthen act-outs, or a character performer wanting to add more depth through movement, this workshop provides a practical, playful toolkit for integrating mime techniques into performance.

Who is this for?

  • Improvisers – improve object work and physical clarity in scenes (e.g. convincingly making a cuppa).
  • Stand-ups – enhance act-outs without overcomplicating physicality (e.g. miming drinking at a bar).
  • Characters/Clowns – use subtle mime techniques to enrich their physical presence and storytelling.
  • Actors/performers- learn how to command on-stage presence, engage in character work, and establish scene authenticity.

What to Expect:

  • Creating the Invisible – Establishing weight, texture, and resistance when miming objects.
  • Physical Clarity in Performance – Using space and movement to enhance storytelling.
  • Embodying Actions & Environments – Techniques to make scenes feel vivid and real.
  • Comedy & Character – Finding humor and depth through physicality.
