Throughout the course, you’ll explore the captivating process of creating ½-scale variations from a basic block. You'll have the opportunity to learn and experiment with a variety of styles, such as:

• Flared skirt
• Wrap skirt
• Yoke with panels
• Circular skirt
• Skirt with godets

Whether you’re a beginner striving to expand your abilities or an experienced sewist looking to refine your craft, this workshop is thoughtfully designed to be both informative and inspiring.

What You’ll Learn:

Introduction to Pattern Making

• What is a pattern?
• Essential tools of the trade
• Understanding pattern anatomy

Pattern adaptions

• What is a block, and why is it important?
• Learn to create various skirt adaptations in ½ scale: flared skirt, wrap skirt, yoke with panels, circular skirt and skirt with godets
• How to properly label and mark individual pattern pieces with symbols and notches
• If time permits, create a toile to test your pattern
• Please bring appropriate woven fabric for your toile
