About this event

6 sessions of 3 hours - Tea and coffee available.

An opportunity to learn basic skills on the sewing machine for beginner sewing machinists and those with little experience wanting to gain confidence.
The course will teach the way a sewing machine works and the uses of sewing machines.
It will also encourage sewers to consider the qualities of textiles and their uses, how to use them in design and learn basic garment construction skills including some decorative techniques.

By the end of the course the participants should be able to use a sewing machine, make a pattern copying a simple garment and have the skills to make it from their chosen fabric.
You will be taught by the experienced teacher Helen Goodard.

Sewing machines and most materials are included in the price (Learners will bring their own chosen fabric for the last project).
