Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a very unique psychotherapeutic approach inasmuch as it tends not to focus on the clients problems or difficulties. Instead, it invites the client to picture how they would like things to be and assumes that they have a deep well of resources that can be evinced in order to get there.Since the 1980’s the evidence for the efficacy of SFBT has continued to grow. There is now a large number of studies that demonstrate its effectiveness in the treatment of most Axis 1 disorders.Aims of the event<ul><li>To introduce the key concepts and processes of SFBT.</li><li>To learn about and practice goal setting using the SFBT style.</li><li>To introduce strength based exploration.</li><li>To explore the value of rating and scaling.</li><li>To practise techniques that facilitate stuckness to movement and use problem free talk.</li></ul>About the FacilitatorsAgnieszka Waszkiewicz - MBACP (Accred), MA, BA, SFBT Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor, Pedagogist.Agnieszka has worked in the mental health sector since 2001 in Poland, the Republic of Ireland and now in Scotland. She works with individuals, families and groups, and also runs workshops in partnership with Greenwood Events and ACT Counselling Services.Agnieszka has a passionate interest in change, as well as teaching and writing poems.As a clinician, Agnieszka works in private practice settings, for Place2Be where she counsels parents and runs workshops for them across Glasgow. Agnieszka also volunteers at Family Advisory Point, which is part of the Polish Catholic Mission in Scotland, as a Family Advisor.Andy Gray - Andy is the Owner of ACT Counselling Services and a retired Psychotherapist and Supervisor. Andy has worked in a variety of training settings; including various private training providers and Universities across the UK. As a Practitioner he has worked in NHS, Social Work, Psychiatric Hospital Management and Private Practice settings.
