Overview

Using the Microbit platform we will be focusing on wearable tech, creating an exciting product in a day!

This one day hands on workshop will cover:

• An introduction to Microbit
• Microbit programming
• Making techniques to be able to create a small wearable device

By the end of the session you will be able to:

• Program and troubleshoot the Microbit as a physical computing platform.
• Create a wearable device with simple and affordable craft items.

Who Should Attend

Teachers with no prior knowledge of using Microbits but want to use them in the classroom to enhance learning and comply with the Digital Competency Framework.

This free workshop is only open to teachers who work or live in Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport or Torfaen.

Facilitator

Martijn Gommeren is a multi-skilled product designer with an interest in making things work. He is experienced in a range of digital making technologies from 3D printing and laser cutting to screen based technologies. Martijn uses these technologies on a daily basis, including Arduino, Microbit as well as CAD software and the Adobe suite. He is able to look at your ideas, concepts and project from the ground up to make them work.

Athrawon heb wybodaeth flaenorol o ddefnyddio Microbitau ond sydd am eu defnyddio yn yr ystafell ddosbarth i wella dysgu a chydymffurfio â’r Fframwaith Cymhwysedd Digidol.

Dim ond i athrawon sy’n gweithio neu’n byw ym Mlaenau Gwent, Caerffili, Sir Fynwy, Casnewydd neu Dorfaen y mae’r gweithdy am ddim hwn ar gael.
