Introduction to Woodpigeon shooting with BASC East at Mid Norfolk

Are you interested in improving your woodpigeon shooting skills? Do you want to learn about roost shooting? Join us for an informative day filled with expert hints and tips gathered from years of experience.

On the day of the event, you will be welcomed by our team with refreshments before we dive into both theory and practical tuition.

Morning Session:

We'll cover essential topics including: The purpose and techniques of decoying woodpigeons - Relevant laws - Identification of quarry - Range judging - Building hides - Setting out decoys. After the classroom session, you will have the opportunity to shoot simulated woodpigeon clay targets from a hide.

Afternoon Session:

After lunch, we will discuss: Reconnaissance - The crops that attract woodpigeons and their feeding patterns - Effective techniques for roost shooting - Legal considerations when shooting pigeons

Additionally, you will learn how to dress woodpigeons, followed by a cooking and tasting session.

This engaging and informative event is a fantastic way for you to learn and become the ultimate woodpigeon shooter.

Cost: £70 for BASC members (subsidized as a member benefit)

If you’re not a BASC member and wish to attend, please Join - BASC . BASC membership is £98 per year (or just £9 per month), granting you all membership benefits, including access to our events and courses.

Important Information:

Attendees must be 18 years of age or older. Please bring your shotgun if you have one, along with your certificate on the day.

Guns must be nitro-proof, with chambers of 65mm or longer, choked half or less, and must be either 12, 20 or 28 bore.

All equipment can be provided, but please remember to bring your own lunch and wear suitable outdoor clothing according to the weather conditions.
