'Introduction to Workplace Coaching' is a two-day course covering the essentials of coaching at work. No prior experience is required and the emphasis is on acquiring the core skills required of an effective workplace coach.

The course covers the essentials for line managers, team leaders and HR practitioners who want to adopt a more coaching style to their interactions with colleagues and includes:

  • How coaching differs from traditional management approaches
  • Structuring a coaching conversation
  • Core skills of the workplace coach
  • Goal-setting and accountability
  • Coaching practicalities
  • Ethics of coaching

The course is highly interactive and gives delegates plenty of opportunity to practice their new skills across a range of exercises. At the end of two days, delegates will know how and when to adopt a coaching style in appropriate workplace contexts, including: development planning, problem solving and decision-making.

Delegates will be sent some brief pre-course reading and preparation, to ensure the course is as practical and interactive as possilbe.

Your course facilitator on both days will be Dr. Richard MacKinnon, Chartered Psychologist and Registered Coaching Psychologist.
